2020 to 2025, inclusive. £30m (Estimated framework value). Our client, a MEICA engineering and construction firm specialising in water treatment facilities for UK water companies, tendered for AMP 7 engineering works across a network of clean water and wastewater sites. The Buyer sought five-year framework support through AMP 7, with AMP 8 in view. The client, already an incumbent from AMP 6 (establishing a regional satellite office), formed a cross-disciplinary bid team led by Curtis Bartlett. Over six weeks, the team developed the proposal, coordinating mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control automation, and project management input, and traveling to meet SMEs to draft responses. AMP 7 emphasised Collaboration and Early Engagement (aligned with NEC contracts) and innovation in the water sector.
Our client highlighted its values alignment with the Buyer and cited prior successes, including rapid redeployment of resources in 2017 to assist with the recovery of flood-damaged facilities. The outcome was that our client retained a place on the framework for AMP 7, continuing the partnership for a further five years. Benefits included a strengthened client–supplier relationship and demonstrated capability to address technical, health, safety, and wellbeing considerations on water treatment and wastewater sites, translating into clear advantages for the Buyer and its customers.

2025. £10m (Estimated framework value). This major UK nuclear infrastructure project was a must-win for our client, with BBM designated Project Lead to coordinate a 73,000-word submission across seven sections: Technical; Industrial Delivery Capability and Supply Chain; Collaboration, Delivery Team and Interfaces; Productivity and Innovation; Industrial Relations Strategy and Project Environment; Health, Safety, Environment & Quality; and Commercial. BBM implemented our bespoke Bid Tracker, established a shared Microsoft Teams workflow with our client’s SMEs, and held regular online meetings to drive progress, initially daily and then twice weekly as the process stabilised.
The bid team comprised three writers from two companies plus BBM’s own contributions, with data and drafts allocated, reviewed, and refined iteratively through multiple review cycles until final approval. Close collaboration with the client’s internal project team ensured rapid access to data and alignment on responses. The tender was completed on time and submitted before the portal deadline. In October 2024 our client’s bid was announced as successful, securing a place on the framework. Benefits included strong senior-level trust, cross-company collaboration, and a robust, transparent process that effectively managed complex information flows, increased efficiency, and ensured the submission met and exceeded client objectives.

2022. £2m (Estimated framework value). BBM assisted a South Wales civil engineering firm, incumbent on an expiring framework, to bid for a new contract serving 15 local councils and the Welsh Government. The client aimed to tender for three lots over a one-month window and sought external bid management to handle the workload and complex requirements, notably Carbon Reduction and Social Value. BBM mapped the approach, set dates and responsibilities in a bespoke Bid Tracker, and facilitated a kick-off meeting to align with the Council’s needs.
Our team drafted bespoke responses, conducted review meetings, and refined edits until final approval. BBM's client was successful on all three lots and retained the framework for a further three years. Benefits included showcasing the client’s unique capabilities (including their own recycling plant), providing robust evidence for claims, and delivering high-quality responses that earned strong feedback from the client, particularly for Carbon Emissions and Social Value.

2022. £1m (Estimated framework value). BBM assisted a premier cleaning products supplier to tender for a high-traffic, and internationally recognised visitor attraction , seeking a sustainable, cost-effective partner for all cleaning, hygiene supplies, and dispensing equipment. Building on a strong prior relationship with our client, BBM mapped a rapid approach to a ten-day tender window using our bespoke Bid Tracker to keep everyone aligned. The bid covered detailed responses on Palm Oil, Waste, Packaging, and Net Zero Carbon, plus a bespoke written proposal. BBM collaborated closely with the client to craft compliant, compelling answers across Account Management, Service & Maintenance, Sustainable Procurement and Social Value, Ethical Frameworks, Pricing, Costs, Contract Performance, Sustainability Reviews, Management Reporting, References, Testimonials, and Implementation Procedures, supported by bespoke graphics.
The outcome was a framework award to our client as the single supplier for the entire estate. Benefits included demonstrating strong alignment with the Buyer’s sustainability goals and illustrating how our client would enhance the estate’s cleaning, hygiene, and sustainability plans through collaboration and measurable impact.
